August 1, Downtown First Thursdays. Grab your friends and head downtown for DFT on Market Street & 2nd Street. Get ready for more live music, food, drag, DJs, free all-ages activities to fill up the night.
August 1-17, Infinite: A Solo Presentation. Jonathan Carver Moore is pleased to present Infinite, a solo exhibition by Victoria Mara Heilweil.
August 1-17, SFAC Gallery Show “Praxis of Local Knowledge”. This exhibition features the work of four artists exploring diverse narratives of movement and memory.
August 3, Hip Hop in the Plaza: Breaking Battle. Join All the Way Live Foundation for a 1 vs. 1 breaking battle. Taking place at UN Plaza featuring DJs Kool Raul and Precise and host Bboy Powerserge.
August 3, Pack Games & Parade. Your pup can join the Pack Games in Civic Center Plaza at open ceremony parade, run through the obstacles of the agility course, join in the Olympics costume contest and visit dog-centric vendors.
August 3-4, La La Land In Concert. Don’t miss your chance to see composer Justin Hurwitz conduct his Academy Award-winning score with the SF Symphony as the film dances across the big screen.
August 4, Nihonmachi Street Fair Doggie World. At this year’s 50th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair’s Doggie World, will again be a special gathering place for the four-legged members to join in on the fun.
August 4, Asian Art Museum: First Sunday. On the first Sunday of each month, general admission is free and tickets to the special exhibitions are offered at a discounted price of $10.
August 4, 11, 18, Stern Grove Festival. Enjoy the last few live music performances in beautiful Stern Grove each Sunday. For 87 years as a non-profit organization, all proceeds of our events go towards bringing free live music to San Francisco, ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of music in nature.
August 6, de Young: First Tuesday. General admission is free the first Tuesday of every month.
August 7, HellaSalsa: SF's Newest Salsa Dance Party. Held at The Function, San Francisco's newest upscale bar, this event promises an evening of exhilarating dance and sophisticated fun.
August 9-11, Outside Lands. Golden Gate Park has upped the ante on music festivals. This 3-Day Festival celebrates music, food, wine, beer, art, and everything we love about the Bay Area.
August 10, Paws-itively Summer. Head over to Thrive City for the Paws-itively Summer series created for you and your furry best friend.
August 15-18, Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Preservation Hall Jazz Band is a true New Orleans institution that defines the tradition of Crescent City music. They return to their West Coast home with a very special guest, the legendary New Orleans vocalist Irma Thomas.
August 16, Penthouse Pawty. Join the biggest event of the year at the top of Salesforce Tower. Enjoy a paw-some charity bash with sky-high fun, spectacular views, drinks, snacks, silent auction items, and more.

August 25, Last Sunday Of Each Month. Charmaine’s social playground for Layover, a Rooftop Happy Hour featuring craft cocktails, light bites, and DJ jams by Motel Club.
August 28-October 13, Wicked. Wicked returns home to the Orpheum Theatre to cast a spell on audiences once again.

Thru September 27, Hip Hop on the Plaza. Join All the Way Live Foundation in UN Plaza on Friday afternoons for everything hip hop.
Thurs-Sun, Sky Rink at SVN West. This summer take a roll around the Sky Rink at SVN West featuring DJs, food and fun. This temporary seasonal rink is open on Saturdays and Sundays before 4pm; and 21+ Thursdays and Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays after 4pm.
Mon-Thurs | Charmaine’s 7@7 Happy Hour. Meet on the rooftop for an exclusive Sundown Happy Hour featuring 7 unique sips, 7 tempting bites and the golden sky at 7pm.
Civic Center Soundtrack Concert Series, Tuesdays & Fridays, noon-3pm; Thursdays 2-5pm. The free concert series by Illuminate, takes place at Fulton Plaza, between San Francisco Main Library and the Asian Art Museum. The full lineup can be found here.
