May 2, Tuesday Night Roller Disco. This is the 1st Tuesday session where anyone can come in and get their skate groove on at Church Of 8 Wheels.
May 2, Market Street Movie Marquees: Neon Nirvana. Time travel to experience the elaborate neon movie marquees that once saturated Market Street near San Francisco's Tenderloin.
May 3, Alix Page. Popscene at Brick and Mortar Music Hall.
May 4, SFJAZZ Gala. This year’s Gala celebrates SFJAZZ Founder and Executive Artistic Director Randall Kline. There will be a live free broadcast of the 2023 SFJAZZ Gala Concert starting at 8:30PM PT on May 4th.
May 5, Roaring 20’s Speakeasy. Step back in time in your best Gatsby attire. Dress code is swank — black, white, and gold. Killer cocktails, tacos, and tunes.
May 7, Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration at the Asian Art Museum. A day full of fun at the museum including dance and musical performances, storytelling, and hands-on art making.
May 12, Socially Inept: Tech Roast Show. Renegade tech comedians roast whimpering techies on stage in front of a live crowd.
May 13, Taiwanese American Cultural Festival. The West Coast's largest Taiwanese American cultural celebration features musical performances, literary showcases, cultural experiences, and culinary highlights.
May 14, Mother's Day Tea at The Westin St. Francis. Enjoy tea service accompanied by live music + create your own bouquet with guidance from the lovely team at Diosa Blooms.
May 14, Union Square in Bloom: Mother's Day Celebration. Spend a fun-filled afternoon moving to the rhythm of live salsa beats, dancing away, and indulging in delicious food.
May 15, SFJAM: Free Community Jam Session. These free monthly open jam sessions in the Joe Henderson Lab provide a space for all musicians to come together and perform in an inclusive, multigenerational setting.
May 16, Intro to Biking in SF with Bay Wheels. In partnership with Bay Wheels, SF Bicycle Coalition is offering a course covering bicycling for everyday riding in SF and how to use the Bay Wheels system.
May 18, Bike to Wherever Day. Join people all over the city on San Francisco’s favorite biking holiday in riding your bike to get to wherever you need to go – or just for fun.
May 18, Schwabacher Recital Series. Presented by San Francisco Opera Center & Merola Opera Program, the series offers you the opportunity to hear gifted singers in an up-close and intimate setting.
May 18-20, Britten’s War Requiem. Conductor Philippe Jordan leads the SF Symphony, Chorus, and soloists in Britten’s haunting liturgy.
May 20, Second Annual Indonesian Bazaar. This event features curated food and art that brings together one of a kind AAPI small businesses, selling delicious food, aromatic coffee and intricate art.

May 28, Parade in SF Carnaval. Join Amor do Samba dancers and drummers to parade in the 45th annual SF carnaval festivities.
May 28, Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling. High flying aerials and death defying maneuvers. Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling, the badges lil show.
Thursdays, Bollywood Fitness Class BollyX. BollyX, a free Bollywood-inspired fitness class, pops up in Civic Center Plaza every Thursday, 11am-noon.
Sundays and Wednesdays, Heart of the City Farmers Market. A well loved Farmers Market happening in UN Plaza since 1981.
Zumba in Civic Center. Zumba instructor Matt Ziegler leads classes in Civic Center Plaza (weather permitting) with SF Rec & Parks Zumba in the Parks. The class is for all ages and skill levels; meet on the paved portion of the plaza adjacent to City Hall. See the schedule here.
