Wednesday-Sunday, through September 25, Me Llaman Calle: The Monumental Art of Juana Alicia at SFAC Gallery. A solo exhibition celebrating the work of iconic muralist and multidisciplinary artist Juana Alicia Araiza.
September - December 9, San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Fall Series 2023. Featuring a robust calendar of music, from performances by guitar virtuoso Sérgio Assad to baroque ensembles, to Chamber Music Tuesdays and more — the fall calendar is full of beautiful music to hear.
September 2023 - May 2024, SF JAZZ 2023-2024 Season. Featuring over 300 concerts, the SF JAZZ 2023-2023 season is a "continued celebration of the organization's 40th anniversary and 11th at the SFJAZZ Center. In addition, the all-star resident ensemble SFJAZZ Collective, will be celebrating their 20th year.
September 1-23, I Am Everyday People. A solo presentation: Adana Tillman at the Jonathan Carver Art Gallery.

September 4, Above It All: Labor Of Love Afternoon Rooftop Soiree. Enjoy 'Above It All' this Labor Day at Charmaine’s, serving a traditional 'tea dance' set featuring vocal house, soul, deep grooves and disco.
September 4, Cooking Class. Get ready to throw the ultimate dumpling dinner party, making dough from scratch, stuffing dumplings & making sauces.
September 6, Trivia Night. Enjoy a fun-filled night of trivia, pizza, and craft beer at Sunset Squares and put your knowledge to the test.

September 8, San Francisco Opera Gala. The San Francisco Opera’s 2023-2024 season opens with their gala on September 8, before a full calendar: The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs (September 22-October 7), The Elixir of Love (November 19- December 9) and its special immersive event: The Elixir of Love Encounter (December 1), along with more traditional operas such as Il Trovatore (September 12-October 1) and The Magic Flute (May 30-June 30).
September 9, The Magic of Giving. A magical experience featuring award winning magicians and a world class hypnotist performing miracles to fight cancer.
September 9, Jungle at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Jungle are back in 2023 with their new album ‘Volcano’.
September 13, Asian Art Museum Murakami: Monsterized Gala After-Party. Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Murakami's artwork, featuring larger-than-life paintings and sculptures.
September 15, Rosh Hashanah Dinner. Celebrate the Jewish New Year with your loved ones and meet new friends in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
September 15 - February 12, 2024, Takashi Murakami at the Asian Art Museum. The Asian Art Museum notes, this is the "first solo exhibition in San Francisco by Takashi Murakami," a renowned artist with recognizable works that appear throughout popular culture and fashion.
September 16, San Francisco Rum Festival. The boutique-style event will showcase a handful of brands that emphasize the education and premiumization of the rum category.
September 17, Doga. Begin the new season with a fur-esh start at Doga at SPARK Social.
September 21, Smith Dobson Plays Keith Jarrett's Shades at SFJAZZ. The multi-instrumentalist and scion of the Bay Area’s first family of jazz performs adventurous music from pianist Keith Jarrett’s 1976 Impulse! date.
September 22, Opening Night at SF Symphony. Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the San Francisco Symphony in an exhilarating Opening Night Gala program that interweaves music & technology in a tapestry of heightened emotional journeys & artistic exploration.
September 29, Salonen Conducts An Alpine Symphony. Heckelphone, organ, thunder machine, and other orchestral effects make for a thrilling Alpine adventure, thanks to tour guide Richard Strauss.
Thru October, Union Square in Bloom Summer Music Series. Every Saturday through mid-October from 1pm - 4pm, and beginning in August, every 3rd Thursday, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Union Square Plaza will come alive with the sounds of talented local artists, celebrating the rich musical heritage of this iconic city.
Thru March 2024, Middle Ground. From the Exploratorium, Middle Ground returns to Civic Center. Find it at the Larkin Street steps of the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library.
Zumba in Civic Center. Zumba instructor Matt Ziegler leads classes in Civic Center Plaza (weather permitting) with SF Rec & Parks Zumba in the Parks. The class is for all ages and skill levels; meet on the paved portion of the plaza adjacent to City Hall. See the schedule here.
