Welcome 2024 by rediscovering San Francisco’s Civic Center. Just steps from NEMA San Francisco you’ll find a place where the arts, community, civic events, and government come together. Since the 1800's, Civic Center has been the hub of culture, government and urban public spaces in San Francisco. The City’s history is deeply ingrained in the fabric of Civic Center, where cultural and ceremonial events have played out in these prominent spaces.
San Francisco Recreation and Parks, in partnership with the Civic Center Community Benefit District, Urban Alchemy, San Francisco Public Library, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco Parks Alliance and recreation providers, is transforming United Nations Plaza and the surrounding Civic Center area by activating these public spaces with an array of recreational offerings and amenities.
